What can I do to be "FOUND"? |
|
God loves you! He REALLY DOES! Because He created us, He knows that people have a craving to fill that "empty spot" that exists in us. It is there because we have sinned against Him. It shows itself in worry, loneliness, frustration, depression and general uneasiness. We try to fill that spot by doing "things" that don't satisfy us. They usually just end up giving us more of the same -- worry, loneliness, frustration and depression. God wants us to have meaning, purpose and direction for our lives: fulfillment, peace and joy. Of course, because we have sinned, and God's standard is perfection, we have a problem. Sin's consequence is separation from God. And that separation can be eternal. The Bible says that the final resting place for those who have not accepted God's remedy for the sin problem is a place called Hell. None of us want to go there! It wasn't even made for mankind! It was made to be the final abode of satan. Humans go there by default -- because they don't choose to accept God's Remedy! God's Remedy for the sin problem is Jesus Christ! The Bible says two important things about Jesus:
If your desire is to receive the gift of eternal life with God, and the forgiveness of sin that goes with it, then pray this prayer to Jesus right now: "Lord Jesus: I know that I am a sinner. Please forgive my sins and come into my heart. By faith I receive you as my Lord and Savior. As best as I know how, I give my life to you. Thank you, Jesus, for dying for my sins and coming into my heart! I turn from my sins. I will follow you and live for you the rest of my life as you give me strength. Amen" If you prayed that prayer, and it was the sincere desire of your heart, then you are God's child, and will be with Him in heaven forever! Your life and destiny have been changed! Since God has FOUND you in your sin and forgiven you for the sin and its consequences, we say that you have been SAVED! (Now you know why we call it that!) No one can receive Jesus Christ as Lord and remain the same! Here are the changes you will notice if you really meant business with God:
You have just begun the greatest adventure in life -- walking with God! Here are several things to do to help you begin your new life in Christ:
